About
Shady Oaks is a riff-heavy blues-rock band from Denver that blends styles of alternative, blues, and southern rock. The band is led by eclectic singer/songwriter and lead guitarist Ty Gallaway, whose inspiration comes from bands such as The Black Angels, Raconteurs, Black Keys, and Jack White.
Gallaway brings his music to life with Isaac Vance on slide and supporting lead guitar, Avery Cox on bass, and Augustus Hoff on drums. The four-piece brings listeners original music that is both dreamy and psychedelic yet equally rugged.
The band was formed by Gallaway in 2020 after writing a number of blues-oriented rock songs. After the release of their debut album, MAD, in 2022, Shady Oaks gained momentum and landed opening spots for larger acts including The Velveteers, Tiny Moving Parts, and Dexter and the Moonrocks.
In 2025, Westword named Shady Oaks Best Blues-Rock Band in their annual Best of Denver issue.
